Surrey Society of Model Engineers support a number of charities which include;- Leatherhead Fire Station, The Salvation Army, Leatherhead Duck Race, Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The photos below show members at our recent Charity Open Day in Mill Lane,  in aid of the East Surrey Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Well over 500 people attended the event throughout the day, paying just £1 each to ride on the various model steam trains, and it is hoped that over £1,000 will have been raised to support local people living with Motor Neurone Disease.

Branch Chairman, Simon Edmands, thanked the event organisers and all the volunteers for their fantastic support throughout the day, adding, "Events like these are crucial, not just for raising funds for the Branch, but also for raising vital awareness of both Motor Neurone Disease and the work of the Association!".
